Parents: Learn about teen medicine abuse

Host an Event

We need your help to raise awareness at the local level about cough medicine abuse and prescription drug abuse. By following the four steps below, you can prevent teens from abusing cough medicines and make a difference in your community.

Four Steps to Planning Your Event

  1. Check out the tool kit
    • The kit, on the right-hand side of this page, has all the information you will need to plan and execute your event on cough medicine abuse. The tool kit includes: media alertspress releases, and op-eds you can share with local media; information to pass out to your attendees; and a PowerPoint presentation you can use at your event. You can browse the toolkit on the right hand side of this page.
    • For helpful information about prescription drug abuse, download CADCA’s Rx Abuse Prevention Toolkit: From Awareness to Action.
  2. Download the video
    • StopMedicineAbuse.org and CADCA created a video for you to show at your event. The video provides information on teen cough medicine abuse and is designed to help you educate your community about the issue. Show it at your event!

  3. Order free brochures
  4. Tell us about your event
    • We will post the information about your event on this site, our Facebook page, and our Twitter page to help you get the word out about your event.
